Meet the Team

Aimee

Marketing strategist by day…moonlighting author by night…mom and wife 24/7. I “write” when I do laundry, when I’m in the middle of a workday, or maybe just walking through our home.

My imagination strikes at random times and it’s not often that I plan to sit down and start “creating”.  I have to feel what I’m writing, and it’s just a spark that comes and goes, literal moments that start an idea and then I go with it later…could be that night, could be the next month.

I want to create stories that will uplift children and strengthen  their sense of self-worth. I want them to know in their hearts and minds that they are more than “good enough”.

I believe I inherited the ability to tell stories from my parents. My father, a US Marine, on dark nights, for instance, would tell my brother and I harrowing stories of life as a soldier fighting in the jungles of Vietnam. My mother - corporate professional by day, aspiring author by night - wrote stories about romance, love, and triumph. I can still hear the click clack of the keys on her typewriter as she transcribed her written work well into the night.

Despite my best efforts to subdue my right brain in favor of the left, I could not fight destiny. While in business school, I captured my experiences in poetry via a small notebook I stashed in my pants pockets. Further, as a career data and intelligence professional, I found ways to incorporate storytelling to highlight customer narratives, industry 'world' building, and competitive dangers.

I now take on a more intentional and passionate task to tell stories. In doing so, I continue to draw on current and past life experiences to create and elevate stories a bit closer to home. Stories that bring to light topics not often told in mainstream media. Stories that resonate across a host of peoples, cultures, and experiences looking for a voice, looking for an outlet, looking for validation.
